THURLES- JULY 10TH 1962 WATERFORD V CORK Waterford goalkeeper Ned Power makeing the most spectacular and courageous hurling save ever recorded by a still camera in the Munster cemi-final against Cork in Thurles. Tom Cunningham has his right arm and hurley wrapped around Christy Ring but the activity of the two galdiators behind them is best left to the imagination. Tipperary's great defender John Doyle once described his goal area as 'Hell's Kitchen. This pictures was captured by Louis MacMonagle (RIP 1975) while working with The Cork Examiner shows magnificently what he meant.
